This dog is being trained to look for European truffles in the pacific northwest of the United States. There are many landowners here that have planted inoculated trees in hopes of harvesting truffles in the future. It is important that the dogs locating these truffles do not damage them-therefore this dog is learning to mark the spot by laying down. This is early in her training. The dog is a Lagotto Romagnolo-the Italian Truffle Dog.
